The Bibliothèque Nationale de France - François Mitterrand (13th, M° Bibliothèque) will be displaying its special collection of banned books in an exhibition called "L'Enfer de la Bibliothèque, Eros au Secret" from December 4, 2007 through March 2, 2008. Rumor and intrigue have surrounded this mysterious collection of books -- called L'Enfer (Hell) -- for many years. Kept away from public eyes in a special reserve, the books include erotic literature, inflammatory political pamphlets, and even pornographic photography. The exhibition, interdit to those under 16, covers both the creation and maintenance of L'Enfer, as well as the books themselves. Open Tues-Sat 10am-7pm, Sun 1-7pm. Entry €7.

Paris' most famous fetish club, Cris et Chuchotements, is closed from November 1-22 for renovations. There will be a grand reopening party on November 23. Do call before heading up there...we all know how building projects stay on schedule here in France!

It's time for the 8th annual Nuit Démonia, one of the biggest fetish parties in Europe. The big night is December 6 at Le Loco (90 boulevard de Clichy, 18th, next door to the Moulin Rouge) from 10pm until 5am, but there are events taking place from the 4th through the 9th. Entry is €40 if you buy your tickets in advance, €50 at the door.
